Job Help & Support
- Register with NCWorks: One of the best things you can do to improve your job search and recovery is to register with NCWorks. It offers helpful resources like job listings, career advice, and training programs.
- Apply for jobs with the State of North Carolina and Temporary Solutions: Visit Join North Carolina to explore job and temporary openings and learn more about how you can join the state's workforce during this time of recovery.
- Utilize the Hurricane Helene Dislocated Worker Grant Program: North Carolina residents who have lost their jobs due to the hurricane can take advantage of the Hurricane Helene Dislocated Worker Grant Program. You can apply by contacting your local NCWorks Career Center.
- Explore temporary recovery jobs with FEMA: You can apply for temporary recovery jobs with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). These positions provide an opportunity to assist in recovery efforts while earning income during the ongoing recovery process.

- Catholic Charities of Charlotte: Catholic Charities offers workforce readiness services to help you get back on your feet. In addition, Catholic Charities helps individuals meet basic needs by providing essential items like personal hygiene products and other necessities.
- Free and income-based clinics in North Carolina: These clinics provide free or low-cost health care which is supported by federal grants, state subsidiaries, or non-profits.
- NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS): NCDHHS provides information on various services available in North Carolina.
- Financial Planning Association: This organization offers a publication called How to Survive Financially After a Job Loss, which focuses on best financial practices during a layoff.
- NC Department of Public Safety-Emergency Management: The purpose of this page is to provide information and resources to North Carolina residents and visitors who were impacted by the storm.
Veteran Services
- Veteran Services of the Carolinas (VSC): This organization supports veterans with employment by offering job training, career counseling, and placement assistance. Through the NCServes program, veterans can access local job opportunities and career resources. VSC also provides housing support and helps veterans with other challenges.
- Military Skills Translator: With this resource, you can use your Military Occupation Classification (MOC) to identify jobs in the civilian workforce that use similar skills to the ones you’ve used in your military career.

- Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD): This division of NCDHHS helps people with disabilities find and keep jobs, live independently, and manage their disability.
