There are several services that are available from the Division of Employment Security's Legal Services Section. You can request records involving claims for unemployment benefits and employer tax records; view Precedent Decisions that DES uses to make decisions in administrative hearings; review DES’ Interpretations Manual to see how DES has historically interpreted the Employment Security Law; and request that the Chief Counsel issue Advisory Opinions on specific issues.

In addition to DES, several other federal and state agencies are responsible for resolving specific employment issues. Although DES mainly deals with the Employment Security Law, there are many other federal and state laws that may apply in employment cases.
