North Carolina Division of Employment Security

We are working hard to help North Carolinians understand the impacts of COVID-19 on unemployment benefits and make sure people receive the assistance for which they’re eligible. We have added call center agents and extended our hours to help get your questions answered. However, you may experience long wait times on our phone lines.

We continue to update our website with the latest information for individuals and employers. Before you call, please check to see if we answer your questions online.
